🧀 Sour Cream & Swiss Green Beans
A creamy, elevated take on the classic green bean bake. This casserole features layers of tender French-style beans and nutty Swiss cheese, all enveloped in a rich sour cream sauce and finished with a buttery, crunchy Corn Flakes crust.
Ingredients
- ½ lb Swiss cheese, grated
- 2 cans (or 2 pkg frozen) French-style green beans (partially cooked & drained)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp onion juice
- ¼ tsp sugar
Topping
- 1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
Preparation Instructions
- Layer: Preheat oven to 400°F. In a 9×9-inch baking pan, create alternating layers of your partially cooked beans and grated Swiss cheese.
- Make Sauce: In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in the flour, then whisk in the sour cream, salt, onion juice, and sugar until smooth.
- Assemble: Spread the creamy sauce evenly over the layered beans and cheese.
- Top & Bake: Toss the crushed Corn Flakes with 1 tablespoon melted butter, sprinkle over the casserole, and bake for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
